Monitum was approached to help mitigate risk of damage to critical infrastructure corridors and heritage buildings during the $600M Southpoint development. A sensitive and complicated construction challenge, the foundations for three new buildings were being constructed beside critical transport corridors and a 128-year-old heritage-listed Brisbane landmark.

During construction, the 330 tonne Collins Place was raised approximately 800mm from its original location. Monitum installed and monitored robotic total stations and tri-axial geophone sensors to critical points of the structure which provided multiple layers of protection against possible damage to the asset during this high-risk construction challenge.

Monitum’s partnership on Southpoint helped our client get on with doing what they do best, by using timely data to measure their activity accurately and mitigate the significant risks associated with this project.
